Koggala Lake is a un- spoiled lake located about few kilo meters away from Galle. Koggala Lake is one of the largest natural lakes and one of the major attractions in the area. Koggala is very important because that place is famous author Martin Wickramasinghe was born in Koggala. He describes beauty of Koggala to write Madol Duwa novel. The Koggala is also famous for Lake Safari, Koggala Giniwella Kathaluwa Buddhist temple, Stilt Fishermen, Fish Massage, Koggala beach, sea turtule farms, Martin Wickramasinghe Folk Art Museum, its distinct stilt fishermen.
